Limny Castro, born in El Salvador, is both a businesswoman and a mother. Her company is named Cozy LittleCub, as a reference to the warm hugs of her daughter. She has always wanted her life to be epic. Her journey started by making custom hoodies and T-shirts many years ago. She found out that she really enjoyed designing them and wanted to precede in this sector. She started looking at other entrepreneurs, watched YouTube tutorials and just grew from there.
Next to Cozy LittleCub, Limny works for State Farm, one of the best insurance companies. She has always been interested in business, and she is planning on finishing business school to grow in this area. She loves connecting with her clients and has created a funnel of over 500 local business owners in the Bay Area.
Limny is a very driven person, as a result of her childhood. When she was only 5 years old, she moved with her family to the United States. Her mom took care of the children by herself, and Limny, being the oldest child, had a lot of responsibilities at a young age. Her father was not the best role model and betrayed her respect. He told her that she is only good for laying in bed with a soft pillow. To Limny, these words were like fuel, and she became more determined because of them. It taught her that she should not settle for anything less than her mind is set on. A skill that helped her create her own business. Every day, she pushes herself forward. She loves having something that is hers and of which she has full control, and most of all, she doesn’t want to disappoint the little girl she used to be.
Having your own business is not always easy. Limny struggles with depression and anxiety, and sometimes getting out of bed is hard for her. For her, it is important to realize that having a business means you have up and down days, just like in life. To deal with this uncertainty, she started practicing gratitude and this has really helped her. Limny appreciates the little things in life now and tries to always have a positive mindset. To keep practicing gratitude, every morning she listens to motivational speakers such as Lesly Brown and Steve Harvey. It helps her clear her mind and it reminds her that she is worthy of everything her heart desires. Every day she lives by a quote from Lesly Brown “You must be willing to do the things today others won’t do in order to have the things tomorrow others won’t have.” That is also the advice she would like to give to anyone who wants to start their own business. She wants you to remember that the sun shines for everyone. Just be yourself and build a community. People will love you for who you are and that is something nobody else has, because there is only one you.
